Fuel Pressure Regulator

What They Do
Meter and atomize fuel delivered to engine. Electrical control signal from the computer activates the solenoid causing the valve to move off its seat, allowing fuel to flow in a conical spray pattern. Injector flow orifice is fixed and fuel pressure is constant. Fuel flow is controlled by how long the solenoid is energized.
Failure Symptoms
No start, flooding, hesitations, exhaust odor.
Maintenance/Service
Inspect every 25,000 miles for proper spray pattern and evidence of leakage.
